Tummy Treats for the Winters !!!

Winter is not all about change in the dress code and the outlook of the living rooms to make it cosier. It is also about rethinking for food choices and ensuring better treats for the tummy. You must be reviewing in mind that what should be special for the winter dining table that may add to the health and yum plans?

So let us come up with some of the winterizing food types to make sure that we have a wide range of yummy treats for this winter. 

Dry fruits – the energy boosters!

Dry fruit is a true source of energy, it has wrapped a massive percentage of health content locked inside it. The almonds have zinc, selenium and Vitamin E to maintain the blood flow and boost brain cells. Walnuts contain Omega-3 fatty acids to ensure skin freshness and cholesterol control. Figs are an enriched source of Vitamin A, B and C to boost the bones and overcome constipation and asthma. Cashew nuts have anti-ageing support to overcome blood pressure and control the cholesterol level of the body. Green Pistachio are awesome in supporting UV and managing skin tone in winter.

The varied range of soups are there, you may choose according to your vegetarian and non-vegetarian trends. Tomato soup is a stomach booster to speed up blood circulation to the body. Chicken corn soup is a full diet and fulfils the appetite. Some of the soups act as appetizers to manage the stomach refresher plan. Ready-made soups are also available in powdered form so you may add boiling water and eggs to enjoy them. 

Egg, Cheese and Fish – winter package!

Don’t miss eggs in your food plans in winter. It is great to start your day by taking eggs for breakfast. It is an enriched supply of proteins and required cholesterol for the body. Cheese is a dairy product, it is truly healthy and acts better for the nourishment of the body in winter. Fish is a special white meat treat in winter as it is warm by nature. You need to have this seafood in winter in multiple forms, like fish masala, fish curry, fish tikka, fish rice and fish steaks. 

Root Veggies – the nature’s gift!

Most of the root veggies grow in winter! They are according to the requirements of the season. The turnip, carrot, radish and sweet potatoes are common foods of winter. They can be eaten as raw as well as cooked! They are adding a fresh boost to the blood. They can be converted into soups.

The tea lovers are truly addicted to winter! A wide range of tea flavours is there like black tea, pink/Kashmiri tea, green/kehwa tea and milk/chai’ tea. The coffee is a great warm drink which is a brain booster and kills the migraine and headaches. Warm milk, dry coriander milk, cardamom milk, chocolate milk, flavoured milk and turmeric hot milk are great options to ensure dairy intake. It works two ways, by giving console to the bones and muscles plus calcium to the body. 

Local Curries – the original sardi tray!

Winter is all about the crazy foods that are avoided in summer due to their warmth and heaviness. Who can miss halwa puri and egg/chollay paratha in the breakfast? Fish curries and chappli kabab add to the hotness of dining tables. Further, nihari and payay, are heavy curries but they are truly treated for tummy in the winter. Gajjar and other halwa with garnished nuts varieties are adding to the range of the deserts. 

All in all, winter allows you to eat well and eat a lot! But you need to be sure that you are not missing a healthy lifestyle as well. Exercise, walking, running and other activities will let you have a better metabolism plan and your food will be truly a treat for the body!
