Nancy Wilson has passed away peacefully after battling with a long illness at her Pioneertown, California home on Thursday 13th December 2018 as per her publicist.
She was born in February 20, 1937 in Chillicothe, Ohio in United States of America. She has produced music for multiple genres like R&B, POP, JAZZ, SOUL & Blues.
She was a very talented singer who could sing cross genres not only Jazz and had resisted being labeled as only a Jazz Singer. Her first album came in the year 1959 with the name “LIKE IN LOVE” which was a commercial success and was loved by many brining her to the spotlight.
The first grammy she won was for “HOW GLAD I AM” in the year 1965. She later won a lifetime achievement award in the year 2014. She won two grammies i.e. one in the year 2005 and the other in the year 2007.
She was involved with record labels like MCG Jazz, Capitol & Blue Note. Her death is a big loss for the music industry and her fans will surely miss her but she will live in her music with us forever.
