It is very important to understand the difference between good carbs and bad carbs because carbohydrates are one of the most vital sources of energy in our body. Carbohydrates are almost in every food that we eat but for a good health it is more essential to choose the right carbs. Good and bad both carbs turns into sugar in body but the thing that creates difference is their nutritional value and how fastest they digest in the body. When a carbohydrate breaks into sugar in body the upshot is in the form of glucose that provides energy to the whole body. Food with complex good carbs like oatmeal, legumes, fruits, vegetables, grains and quinoa are full of fiber that break down slowly in body and sooths your blood sugar level and you feel full for a long time after taking good carb food.

Bad or simple carbs are brown sugar, table sugar and processed food that are used in different kind of products that contains added sugar to increase its taste. Processed food that includes that added sugar or that are also called simple carbohydrates or bad carbs are fruit flavored drinks like packed fruit juices, grain based desserts, sugar sweetened beverages, candies, dairy desserts, ready to eat cereals, bakery based different yeast items like bread, buns and many other food items. Bad carbs or simple carbohydrates quickly digested by the body, causes inflammation and increases the blood sugar level in body. In our daily routine we consume so much food items of this kind of carbohydrates, and if we consume a lot of simple sugar it started effecting our body and health.

As the sugar level increases in our body the inflammation starts because of too much sugar in blood that can cause to damage the artery walls. Arteries carry blood with full of oxygen to your heart and when inflammation increases it can narrow the coronary arteries that create difficulty for blood to make it to your heart. If you have a high blood sugar level it increases the risk of heart disease. According to the AHA (American Heart Association) the women limit to consume added sugar in a day is six teaspoons and in men the limit is nine tea spoons a day because a biggest threatening situation is that the average American according to AHA consumes almost 22 teaspoons of added sugar a day that is much more than the average limit. The more you consume the added sugar in daily routine the more it increases the risk of heart disease. So it is very important to add good or complex carbs in your daily routine as much as possible to avoid inflammation and heart health risks.
